Dear guests, let me introduce myself: I am Lucia Olivan and proven from the countryside of Vicenza where I grew up in sopressa and Palladian villas, between the Euganean Hills and the walled cities of Este and Montagnana. Having come to Venice back in 1994 to study at the ancient and prestigious Ca’ Foscari, I graduated in Foreign Languages and Literature in the year 2000, on the very last day of Carnival!

I am still enthusiastic about living in this city, and I have become passionate about a particular line of work that leads me to immerse myself in our artistic heritage and meet people from all over the world.

I started the profession of tour guiding in 2004 and have followed both families and groups. In 2016 I became a tour guide and have been working mainly in Venice ever since. In this wonderful and unique city there is plenty to do between choosing a classic tour of St. Mark’s Square, in and out of the museums, or a walk in the different sestieri; between visiting the Jewish Ghetto or a tour of the Grand Canal, as well as routes in the lagoon. Don’t forget that our lagoon is one of the largest in Europe and ranges from the best-known islands such as Murano, Burano and Torcello, to the possibility of bike tours to the Lido, to see its Art Nouveau part, reach the village of Malamocco and trespass, why not, in that of Pellestrina.

In the historic center, on the other hand, I always suggest getting lost in the maze of Venetian calli: it is the best way to discover the truest and least traveled parts of this city that can still amaze and offer so much to the visitor. For the indefatigable walker, a well-deserved stop in a typical bàcaro to taste the famous cicchetti cannot be overlooked.
