A walk to discover the green corners of Venice beyond the “fence.” A secret and aesthetic revelation from the distant Mesopotamian origins to the realization that the world is a garden. This tour will pot you to learn about the history of the garden and its inclusion in the amphibious city of Venice. You will be able to enter a monastery to also grasp the spirituality and rituality of plants. A mysterious garden will make you forget the Venice of tourists, and then immerse yourself in the garden of a noble Venetian palace and grasp the quirks and extravagances of the owner in building it. We will admire the beauty of nature by identifying aspects of its essence in some botanical gardens.
Proposed itinerary

It begins with a visit to a garden in the monastic complex behind the Church of St. Mary of Nazareth (known as the Church of the Scalzi) where a variety of plants and flowers placed in flowerbeds representing the rooms of the castle, the document written by St. Teresa of Avila and reflecting her conversion to God, will be seen. The walk then continues in the Cannaregio sestiere to enter inside a private palace and delve into the life of the noble Venetian families who used to embellish their gardens and then organize there piece theater. Visits end at the Groggia Gardens, which cover an area of about 5,000 square meters, created in the 19th century in a typically romantic style with hills, paths, trees and rocks on the grounds of the 16th-century Palazzo Donà. Walking along the paved path, one also passes two huge Celsis Australis and then reaches a small neo-Gothic-style theater.
