TOUR GUIDE
Giovanna Di Cataldo
What can I say… they are a kind of panda, one of the few Venetian d.o.c. that survive in their natural habitat… an endangered species!
To tell the truth, I tried to move abroad: London, France, Milan…I was a designer and illustrator and had a lot of fun. But then my passion for these magical places, these genuine foods and this land of sun and fog brought me back here. So I took a second degree in Literature, with a thesis on verbal and graphic political communication.
In 2011, I started working for the Civic Museums of Venice, also overseeing temporary exhibitions. I worked with the prestigious Stanze del Vetro, Palazzetto Bru Zane, devised culinary tours and activities for the little ones… until, in 2017, I managed to win the coveted tour guide license!
Now my mission is to share my many passions with you 🙂
I will take you on a discovery of my city, Venice, from the most famous places (but we will go when we are sure we have them all to ourselves!), to those forgotten over the centuries, and which are gradually being restored and reopened to the public. But we will also go to discover the Islands, the artisan Murano, the one you thought had disappeared. Torcello, San Servolo and San Francesco del Deserto… and if you really feel like an unforgettable day, let’s go to Chioggia, to see the oldest Clock Tower in the world!
PS I love the kids–baked with potatoes!
Jokes aside, I organize scavenger hunts and activities for young and/or old, and I can tailor any itinerary to the needs of any generation
